At NOTS, we value reliability, efficiency, and customer service, but none of that matters if safety doesn’t come first. Protecting our employees and clients is paramount in the work we do.

Safety All Year Long

Workplace safety is a topic we think about year-round and, as we mark National Safety Month this June, we’re shining a spotlight on its importance.

In our line of work, which includes warehousing, transportation, workforce management, and distribution, accidents can happen if employees aren’t careful to follow all rules and regulations. That’s why we take steps to ensure our people are kept safe on a daily basis. Over the course of our more than 40 years, we have implemented new procedures to meet government and industry standards while remaining at the forefront of technology to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Additionally, NOTS is proud to be certified as a Drug Free Workplace and, every February, we raise awareness about life-saving tips for emergency situations. Plus, we ensure that we always have CPR and AED certified coworkers on duty.

Safety is a top priority at all NOTS Logistics locations.

Good For People, Good For Business

As the National Safety Council (NSC) notes, employers that put a premium on the safety of their employees see improved morale, increased productivity, lower costs, and fewer injuries. And avoiding workplace accidents means we’re more efficient for our clients.

With over 4 million square feet of warehouse space and a service area that covers the entire U.S., NOTS makes significant investments in keeping people safe. It’s the right thing to do, often legally required, and happens to be a sound approach to business as well.

The total cost of workplace injuries in the U.S. was $167 billion in 2021, according to the NSC. That includes $47.4 billion in wage and productivity losses, $36.6 billion in medical expenses, and $57.5 billion in administrative expenses. And, sadly, gaps in safety can lead to a loss of human life, as there were 4,113 preventable workplace deaths across the country in 2020, according to Injury Facts.

A Culture of Caring

As a family business founded on a culture of caring, we treat both our employees and clients like family. And that means making physical safety the number one priority in everything we do.

Safety has been a part of that culture for more than 40 years and will remain so for decades to come.
